Custom PL8S 4 PETS(®) License Plate ID Tag KitReviewsThis tag is sooo cute. Everyone who sees it on my puppy comments on it and asks where I got it. There is so much information. The license side with his name is very original. It is a good size (not to0 big). It is smaller than a real military "dog tag." Some tags are so small you cannot read what they say. Also, the engraved lettering on other tags fades. All the information is very easy to see. My puppy has worn it in the rain and mud. It cleans off easily and has not faded. It has a metal piece so it does not bend, nor is it heavy. I think this would be good for kids. It could be a zipper pull on coats or book bags. It would also make a cute key chain. You do not have to have the last line of information about microchipped or reward if found. It was very easy to get the information to the seller. They emailed me and said I could submit the info via email (yeah!!) or wait for the actual package in the mail. I replied right away with all the information and attached the photo file. I had the tag in a few days (maybe two). This costs more than the standard tag, but I believe it is worth it. Better quality, better clarity of information, more durable, and just so cool. PYLE PLCM10 License Plate Mount Rear View camera with Night VisionReviewsBottom line up front: Don't expect a $30 CMOS backup camera to perform like your $600 camcorder. This camera is good for the price. I installed it rather quickly in conjunction with my Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT. It added a Pyramid 10-amp noice filter ($3) as close to camera as possible to ensure it got clean power. It works fine. I can see anything behind me, day or night. Between the IR illuminators on the camera and your backup lights, anything close enough to be of concern at normal reversing speeds are illuminated. After careful aiming, I know right where the "sweet spot" is for backing closse to other car's bumper and other obstacles behind me and still have a save 6-12" buffer. I now get in and out of tight spots with ease. Important notes: - Don't expect this to look like HDTV. It's a $30 CMOS camera. - Use the $3 noise filter. - Route your cables carefully. You should ground the negative lead as close to the camera aspossible and run the positive lead to your choice of power supply (the reverse lights, of you want the camera on only when you're backing, or an accessort power, if you wnat it on when the car's on - as in my case where my head unit has a "rear view" mode for viewing trailers and such while moving forward). If conecting to accessory power, you'll likely have to extend the cable to the front of the vehicle. Keep it a few inches from the from the video cable, and make sure both the video and power cable cross each other and other cables at 90-degrees, and avoid parralle runs. Also, be prepared to extend the video cable. I had to add a 6-foot extension to mine in order to get it to reach the head unit. I don't understand wht someone would spend over $100 for a higher quality camera for the purpose of just backing up, unless they're using it for some sort of high-speed reversing and/or using a really large screen, in which case I would personally use a 0 lux securty-type camera with a differnt mounting location. DO NOT BUY THIS!!!! its junk. blurry black and white "negative" looking picture, very dark, it's junk no if ands or buts about it. i tried to install it and thought i did it wrong so i took it to a shop and they laughed when i showed it to them, they told me it was junk before hooking it up and i asked them to hook it up anyways, they did and with the same result. I'm out the $30+ i paid for it and also the $50 for the install. This is the worst camera to buy. I bought it and had to return it. No night vision no low light cabably as stated and even in the morning it has very dark picture. People and other object look almost black and white. Hooked up to two diffrent tv systems and same results do not buy this camera. Average Rating:![]() |

Audiovox ACA200W Wired Back-Up CameraReviewsI have had this camera installed on my truck for approximately two weeks. Right out of the box, I discovered rust on the brand new license plate bracket - it appeared that the bracket was rusted before it was even painted. While I was not pleased to find this, I wanted to get my install underway. I sanded, primed, and painted the bracket and installed the camera the next day. Installation is fairly straightforward, but it took some time on my vehicle. Don't get too excited about the "anti-theft" mounting hardware. It is only two license plate mounting screws that require a standard Allen wrench. The camera is held to the bracket by two standard Phillips head screws, so this camera can be quickly removed if anyone takes an interest in it. The most difficult part of my installation was snaking the video cable forward from the rear bumper, through a frame rail, and into the cab through an existing grommet. This process, while frustrating, had nothing to do with the camera, and the included video cable was just long enough for my installation (2006 Nissan Titan King Cab). Longer trucks might need to extend the included cable or purchase a longer cable - it is just a standard RCA connector on both ends. I was not encouraged by reviews of the wireless cameras, so this still seems to be the better choice. Once installed, the picture is clear and responsive in all but pitch-black conditions. The camera does not have a "fish eye" effect, but the wide angle image makes it very difficult to determine if objects are directly in the path of the vehicle. You will see them though, so no worries about missing children, pets, or vehicles. The camera does struggle to produce a clear picture when only a portion of the image is bright - headlights and bright overhead lights in a parking garage have been the problem so far. The area surrounding the light source is washed out while the darker portions of the screen have little detail. Bright sunlight isn't an issue so far, at least when the lighting is consistent across the screen. After two weeks on the truck, other pieces of installation hardware have begun to rust. The screws and washers used to hold the camera to the bracket and the bracket to the bumper are not fairing well with limited exposure to road salt. So far the camera is fairing better, but time will tell. While the picture is about what I would expect for $60, the hardware is extremely disappointing. This might be a good choice if you live in an arid climate, but I would probably make a trip to the hardware store to upgrade the screws and washers before installation. Based on the initial quality of this camera, I will not purchase another Audiovox product. Just put in a warranty ticket with Audiovox. After 4 months the lens has fogged up making the camera useless. I live in sunny Northern California (no snow or rain storms here) so durability is definitely is in question. Great product! Recieved in three days. Easy to install and wire up and running in 20 minutes! Works perfectly with my Jensen VM9312HD. Camera is clear and a wide viewing angle, the color is a plus. Also very clear at night. Works great in the rain as well, no waterproof issues! Overall just a great product!Audiovox ACA200W Wired Back-Up Camera! From the photos with the product, and the price of the product, I assumed there was a monitor included. I realize I should have investigated closer but I feel there was some misrepresentation. As for the product once I purchased a monitor it worked well After reading numerous articles on fitting backup cameras to a Toyota Camry, I took a chance on this camera rather than the one recommended (at ~3 times the price!). I'm handy with a soldering iron, so thought I could modify as necessary. In short this camera works great. I took some screens and have posted them as customer images with notes. Although the camera is listed as requiring 12v, it works great on the 6v output from the Camry wiring harness. Before starting any work on the car I tested this with a 6V battery and plugged the camera output into a standard video-in socket on a TV. I also had a mandate to not drill any holes or cut/break into any wires, in order to maintain the full warranty on the car. I needed to buy three things, beside this camera, to do the installation. Firstly was 20' of 4-core cable to run from the camera to the dash, a female phono connection (I also didn't want to cut the wires on the backup camera), and a set of plastic trim removal tools (Actron CP5011 Panel, Trim and Molding Removal Set). I pulled out the indash unit, plugged into it using pins from an old PC CDROM audio cable (CD-ROM Audio Cable, Mpc2 To Mpc2, 18in) and soldered these wires to the 4 core cable. This cable was then "fished" followed the existing wiring loom following the drivers side and through an existing grommet into the trunk lid. From there it was necessary to solder this 4 core cable to the camera +/- wires and the female phone (for video signal) and then pass the cable through the driver's side license plate lamp seal. I decided to use the alternative mounting plate that came with the camera and mount this using shallow screws into my aluminum license plate holder - all told, zero wires cut & zero holes drilled into car. I was as happy as my wife is with the install. Definitely not as quick as a wireless camera, but you can't argue at the quality of the camera and the manner in which it integrates with the existing electronics. There are lots of instructions on the internet on how to do this if you have a Camry [...] Note, the camera they recommend is an Eclipse one (Eclipse BEC106 Back-Eye Vehicle Rear-View Camera) which is just slightly smaller, though over a hundred dollars more! Hope this helps, Mike Average Rating:![]() |

BOYO VTL351 Ultraslim Zinc License Plate Camera (Black Metal)ReviewsWe combined this camera with a rear view mirror monitor (Boyo VTM 600 M) and had both installed via BestBuy's GeekSquad for 85 dollars as a wired system on our full size pickup truck. The camera is barely visible on the license plate frame when you look at the back of the truck, but with it's good quality CCD sensor and 150 degree angle provides a very good picture. I bought this camera and am generally happy with it. It has a very low profile, can't even tell that there is a camera present (especially if your car has a part of bumper that sticks out over the license plate area). I used anti theft screws to secure it, but paid for the installation. The picture is low-res but good enough to discern license plate numbers of cars lined up behind you and works better than expected in low-light conditions. It would be nice if Boyo would include distance markings that would allow you to judge how close/far you are from objects - otherwise it takes a bit of guesswork initially to know how close an object is based on where it is on a screen. In an RV, I would understand the use of a back-up camera. However, I do not yet see the purpose for a rear license plate camera on a sedan. I do feel there should be a detailed explanation on its use and purpose before spending nearly $160.00 You can't even tell there is a camera on your plate unless you get very close to it. The documentation says it has good low lux visibility and they are true to their word. The first night I used the camera, I thought out loud, "Wow, you can see the entire street." It is a noisy picture, though, both during the day and at night. It is a tiny cheap camera with a regular a/v feed. I didn't buy this for the clear picture. I did buy it for the 150 degree wide angle lens and it does the job quite nicely. I'm waiting to see it survive in the rain now... Average Rating:![]() |

Melissa & Doug License Plate GameReviewsGreat toy. Kept our kids (and us) entertain during a long drive. Great concept, although I fear that the elastic won't last as long as the toy and if an elastic breaks, won't be able to fix it. We'll worry about it if it happens, until then, it's a great toy to keep in the car. The problem with most license plate games is that the pieces get lost. The great thing about the Melissa and Doug game is that you cannot lose the pieces. Also, this game could be used for a wide age range of children... anywhere from kindergarten up through teenagers. Even if you're not traveling, this game could be used to help children learn the state capitals. Great quality! This board game let's you track the license plates you see on your road trip. No more wondering, "Did we still need Oklahoma?" Strong, tight bands make sure the plates stay flipped or unflipped. Little pictures even help the little kids play along. Highly recommended product! I bought this game for my 4-year old son who is just starting to express an interest in identifying license plates. We used it on a 3-hour ride, and he loved it. Once he identifies the license plate, he flips it over, then his 6-year old brother reads the state's capital to him. It's a very educational toy. There's a way that you can play an actual game, but I don't think we'll use this feature. The rubber bands that hold the license plates in place are very durable. Overall, I was quite impressed!
